Just thinking back to how this whole thing began
A dream became just one small step for a man
All we have learned from our excursions in space
Secures the future for the human race
All of these dreams will soon be realized
Even better than we visualized
Hard to believe but we can honestly say
We’re fast approaching Habitation Day
Working toward this for many long years
Thousands have given their blood, sweat and tears
There have been setbacks but we overcame
And now our lives will never be the same
And from the Island One Consortium
A promise that the best is yet to come
Our dedication is going to pay
When we arrive at Habitation Day
Biding my time at the departure gate
Not much to do but sit and patiently wait
Passion for knowledge and the will to survive
The catalyst to keep the dream alive
And once we’re seated and securely strapped in
We’ll feel the thunder as the engines kick in
And then at last we will be on our way
To Island One on Habitation Day
